The adaptive role of terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems for carbon dynamics and land-atmosphere greenhouse gas (GHG) exchange are some of the most critical environmental issues in a changing climate. SITES collects meteorological data as well as monitoring of carbon and nutrient dynamics within the landscape. Further, SITES collaborates with the national ICOS and ACTRIS to connect ground-based observations with atmospheric measurements of GHGs and short-lived atmospheric constituents.
