Call for Applications: SITES AquaNet 2025!

28 October 2024

Are you interested in conducting mesocosm experiments on lakes? SITES AquaNet provides a standardized infrastructure for running mesocosm studies across various lakes. This system features floating platforms with mesocosm enclosures, automatic sensors linked to a data-logging system, and handheld sensors for precise measurements. In this video you can find more information about SITES AquaNet!

How to apply?

If you are interested in running mesocosm experiment using AquaNet infrastructure you are welcome to apply by using the following form. Applications submitted by January 15, 2025 will be reviewed and given priority. Applications received after this date can be accepted based on the availability of the facilities, but cannot be guaranteed.

How application will be evaluated?

Researchers can apply to use any of the mesocosm facilities of Asa, Bolmen, Erken, Skogaryd and Svartberget (see lake descriptions). Applications will be assessed by a review panel consisting of the SITESAquaNet Coordinator, the facility managers at the stations, and expert scientists, as needed. Applications will be accepted based on feasibility and scientific-merit, and priority will be given to projects using facilities at multiple SITES stations as well as applications by early career researchers.
