Welcome Amelie Lindgren to the SITES community! In June, Amelie will be taking over as Station Manager at Skogaryd but for the first half of the year she has already been transitioning into the new role.
1. Tell us about your background
When I was 4 years old, I decided I wanted to be a veterinarian. That obviously didn't happen. Instead I attended music school, then realized the Earth needed some help, changed paths, and went to study physical geography in Lund. From there, I've walked through some open doors and happened to end up as a researcher in ecosystem science at GU. It's been a lovely journey.
2. What is your current role within SITES?
I'll be taking over as station manager at Skogaryd in June, but I've also been working alongside Tobias Rütting since January to get a head start.
3. What are you most looking forward to working on at Skogaryd?
I'm excited to work together with the excellent team at Skogaryd, and with others in the SITES community. I hope to do some great science that make use of the infrastructure, and to create an environment where other researchers feel welcome to join. I'm eager to continue the efforts that others have initiated before me, but also to develop the station going forward.
4. What do you do in your free time?
I run after three small kids, sing in a tiny choir, read extensively and try to find time to chill on the sofa.
